What Makes Salvadoran Chorizo Different?

Of course, you’ve probably seen the more common Mexican chorizo, which is more famous in the United States. But Salvadoran chorizo is actually quite different.

Cute, right? And more importantly — it’s so easy to cook and enjoy! You can even remove the casing and use it like ground meat.

Its bright red color comes mainly from paprika, not from heavy chili spice. The result? A well-balanced sausage that’s rich, savory, and packed with umami flavor.
